Digital Internships & Work Placements Summer Round-up

Daffodils in Nowton Park by Andrew StawarzSpring has sprung. Even the plant life inside Chinwag Towers is showing signs of life despite its usual mistreatment.

It's also the time of the year when soon-to-be graduates, and those about to embark on their gap year start the hunt for a worthwhile pursuit to fill the coming months.

Following our call for internships and work placements a few weeks back, here's a round-up of the response we got. For enterprising souls, there's certainly plenty of experience to be gained at some great digital companies, check out the list of available placements:

This list was put together purely as a rough'n'ready trial, it's a list of internships and work placements only. If you're looking for a full-time or freelance role, check out the full listings on our sister site, Chinwag Jobs (hint: there's a list of the latest and greatest to your right-hand side).

We'd also love to hear from employers and interns on their experiences, so do leave a comment or drop us a line. It's always good to get a steer on the state of the industry, both good and bad.

FootballUnited.com

FootballUnited is a rapidly growing, nearly-global football news service.

Our tech team needs an extra pair of hands to grab some of the self-contained projects that never quite get done. If you have any (or all!) skills in PHP, CSS, SQL, or Graphic design you might be our guy/gal.

There's two other things we need you to do.
1 Be able to organise yourself to deliver a project (you know, all those things about being an energetic self starter...)
2 Know when to stop & ask for help.

In the run up to the World Cup, we've a mountain of projects to get done, to deliver fans' news to web, to mobile, and social channels. We'll fit the projects that you work on to your skills & experience. (It would be pretty dumb to do anything else, now, wouldn't it!)

We'd want an intern to be with us for 3 months at a minimum,; start any time you like. We'll pay expenses, and a per day rate

We're a small team, working from our own offices, in Smithfield. We're pretty relaxed about work hours - more focussed on getting services out the door than on turning up at 8.30am every day... We're backed by a *huge* independent football website, which gives us access to nearly 1 million football fans a week: the work you do for us will get seen & used by a lot of people, worldwide.
