Description

During the last 12 months the 'realtime social web' has been growing in importance and value - services like Twitter have almost reached 'fever' point and are now starting to become adopted by the mainstream mass market. I still hear senior professionals saying "it's a fad" - whether it is or not - we think it is important to understand the value that is being created and why it matters to you in your role/business.

At mashup* on the 29th Jan - we'll be asking a number of questions about the realtime social web.

  • What is it ?
  • What is the value ? - to you, your business, your revenue, your profits
  • Why should you care ?
  • What is next ?

Fundamentally the realtime web is starting to play a huge role in the way people connect, communicate, collaborate, make purchasing decisions, find websites, ask questions, find people, discover places to go, interact with MPs, track information etc. etc.
I've heard a number of people state that it will completely change the way we interact with people, government & businesses and the way we buy products & services. Understanding 'it' and the value to businesses (of all types), government, NGOs etc. will be key.

Come along for the 1st mashup* of 2009, enjoy a glass or 2 of wine, network with your peers, and learn about the realtime social web and why it matters.
