Description

Learning by Playing is brought to you by TechHub and Pearson.

How does each of us first learn? We're involved in a great big game called life and we work out how best to navigate it, form relationships and achieve the things we need or want. We learn through immersion and the sheer delight of living.

What could be better than enjoying a learning experience? Games makers are moving to the forefront of learning, and immersive worlds and games are becoming ever more popular.

Hear from Poptropica, MangaHigh and others and see them demo the sites that have pushed them to the top in this space. Meet and mingle with others interested in the immersive and education gaming sectors over a drink or two.

Speaking/demo-ing:

  • Anna Rafferty, Penguin Digital MD – demo of Topsy and Tim Start School – app gaming experience based on the classic book to get kids excited about attending school.
  • David Samuelson, EVP Games & AR at Pearson – demo of immersive worldPoptropica which has 200 million avatars created worldwide.
