Description

Government 2020: Where is government heading over the long term? The Futures Company and Oxford Economics debate the future role of government in public service delivery and regional development.

While the debate on whether sharp cuts in government spending benefits the economy rages, we take a long term and global view on how public services might be delivered in 2020.

This event will centre around a set of government scenarios being developed by The Futures Companyexamining the relationship between levels of public engagement, political change and global competition. We’ll be identifying key uncertainties the UK public sector might face over the next decade.

Looking closer to home, Oxford Economics will build on these challenges in their analysis of the regional impact of public spending cuts.

An expert panel will address what these futures mean for individuals, policy makers and business.
