Description

With the expected flurry of activity around next year's spectrum auctions for fourth generation (4G) mobile broadband services, this is just the right time to explore the issues and challenges in building the networks as well as the emerging considerations in creating a sustainable value chain for these new services, from the provision of content and network services to consumer devices.

There has been very little discussion of such value models which are vital for the success of the new services. Through the international insights of experienced industry players and key experts, and interactive discussions, this conference will seek to fill this gap.

The opening session will set the scene with senior speakers from industry, Ofcom and the European Commission. The 2nd session examines the issues in implementing 4 G networks - including the challenges and the opportunities through technology for innovation . Session 3 is intended to move us to consider the issues around creating a sustainable value model across the whole chain. Following Ed Vaizey's key note we will have an open, interactive final session to conclude the event.
