Description

On 28 February, DigitalSurrey will welcome Michael Silverman, Managing Director at Silverman Research, who specialises in applying social media and data visualisation technology to opinion research.

Michael will be speaking about how social media impacts the way organisations engage in conversations with their current and prospective employees and how this is posing some difficult challenges. Drawing on The Social Media Garden open-access research study, which was carried out in partnership with Unilever, Michael will explore the adoption of social media practices in the workplace and how this is turning communications on its head for organisations.

February's DigitalSurrey is being supported by Surrey County Council's Superfast Broadband team, who will be hosting the event at County Hall.

Surrey County Council has signed a contract with BT to extend their fibre based Next Generation Access network into those parts of Surrey not covered by BT's commercial plans or other infrastructure providers. The aim of the programme is for all Surrey homes and businesses to be able to access superfast broadband speeds and make use of the benefits it offers. The programme team will provide an update at the event and for more information visit www.superfastsurrey.org.uk.
