Description

Bath Digital Festival launched in 2012 when local tech evangelist Mike Ellis decided it was time Bath had a public-facing event that would show off all of the fantastic digital activity happening in the city.

And so the festival was born, with the aim of being ‘a collection of events celebrating the place of digital technology in all our lives, and the considerable impact that Bath has on the digital sector.’

This is the festival’s second year, and we’re introducing some brand new events and have some fantastic new names on board. Working with Peter Gabriel means we’re offering possibly one of the most exciting hack event venues ever, and the return of internationally renowned X Media Lab highlights the significance of Bath’s digital sector not just in the UK but globally.

This year we’re also thrilled to be running Britain’s first Rails Girlsevent. These events have been run across the US, Europe, Asia and Australia, so hosting Britain’s first during Bath Digital Festival really puts the city on the map.

A whole weekend of family fun planned at Queen Square in the centre of the city will give everyone in the community, regardless of their current connection with the tech sector, a great opportunity to get involved and have some fun. From a digital funfair to a Nodecopter event, there really is something for everyone.
