Description

The aim of the Thinking Digital Conference is to showcase speakers, insights and ideas that have the power to change businesses, organisations, communities, careers and individuals if not the world. Jim Collins, author of Good to Great, helped popularize the phrase “Big Hairy Audacious Goals”. At Thinking Digital we want to become synonymous with “Big Hairy Audacious Ideas”.

Thinking Digital was founded by Herb Kim, Brooklyn NY, gone Newcastle, Gateshead! He rose through the academic heights of Princeton, Warton and IBN NY and then jumped ship relocating  to London, UK in the late 90’s to begin his entrepeurial journey .  After several well earned vacations to the North East of England, he decided to move there, where he has lived (splitting this half time with the North West) happily ever after for the past decade.

Herb established Thinking Digital originally as a side project. Inspired by the work of Jim Collins, from Good to Great, and attending the early TED conferences in Monteray, California he witnessed the growth of a community outside of the main US cities. Herb wanted to put the North East of England on the map by attracting and connecting with exceptional talent from around the world. Now in it’s sixth year Thinking Digital has done just that. At the same time Herb continues to support the TED global initiative by bringing TEDx events to Gateshead, Newcastle, Teeside, Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester, Sheffield and the Houses of Parliament.

Herb is joined by a dedicated team, obsessive about hosting great events including the Lead Producer, Elspeth Lawson and Producer Mari Burns.
