My linux box is to busy rendering right now to test your path query but
don't forget the linux flash player is a beta version so it does have
some quirks, I never noticed that because I always use the fully
qualified path.

On the search, strange ! We must have different playgrounds ;).
Try starting with Olivier Debon's page's at http://www.swift-tools.com
and then go on from there. You'll find quite a lot of stuff.

As for Macromedia porting Flash to *nix, I wouldn't wait for it.
Macromedia is a great company it has top notch programmers that know Mac
programming like few but I don't think they have a *nix shop.
As I'm on the subject of Macromedia programmers, one thing I would like
to see is better copy protection in their software. It's disgusting the
number of web-pirates that are popping up these days using Macromedia
products for web development and selling their work for pennies.
