Yes! Tom could probably give the definitive answer, but there are many
types of WAVs, including PCM, several ADPCM types, CCITT A-law and
U-law, etc. You will need a sound program like SoundForge (PC) and/or
SoundEdit SoundApp (Mac) to save to the right type. What types work? I
can't remember.

Subject: FLASH: Wav Problems

Hello,

Has anybody experienced difficulties with the importing of certain
wav files into a flash 3 composition? Most of the time wavs are
imported without a problem, but a few have prompted a 'unrecognizeable
file type' sort of error. It seems to be only wavs that I've downloaded
from 'The Ultimate Sound Archive' at www.advances.com/sa, so its
probably a problem with their wavs in particular (although MoviePlayer
has no problem recognizing and playing even these as wavs), but I was
wondering if anyone else has had this problem and if so, how did they
get around it?

Ivan.
