FLASH: user input as variable?

hi everyone,



I'm trying to modify the search list here...

What I want is something like that but like this....


I want a text entry box...that's it.....when the user types in "Bell"...i 

want flash to say "if the user types in Bell, then go to label "bell", 

otherwise, stay right where you are..."


how do i define the user's input as a variable that I can check.......saying 

if they typed in "Converse"....go to frame 20...if they typed in 

"White".....go to frame 30.....if they type in gibberish...stay at the 

current frame...



I'd appreciate anyone's help on this.....i'm been messing around with this 

for the last few days...but i'm almost done.....this appears to be the last 

hurdle....
