Yes, the MIME is correctly set.
The problem is twofold I believe.
First you have checked in Aftershock (or set in HTML) the gif
alternative but not uploaded the gif file to the server.
Second if you select gif alternative, then Mac and Win 3.1 IE browsers
will get the alternative graphic because there is no way to detect
whether there is a Flash plugin installed in these browsers with
Javascript.
