But john I have similar problems with IE 4.0 and NN 4.0 and NN 4.5. I had no gif problems. Macromedia were no help with this one. "we don't give support for Aftershock".
According to Michael I still have problems with IE and Mac. Can anyone else with this combination look and give me a hint?
Jason
PS with IE 4 on Mac the animations are working but the bottom is cut
off on both frames and the links don't work (althought both work fine on
Windows and on Mac with NN).

Yes, the MIME is correctly set.
The problem is twofold I believe.
First you have checked in Aftershock (or set in HTML) the gif
alternative but not uploaded the gif file to the server.
Second if you select gif alternative, then Mac and Win 3.1 IE browsers
will get the alternative graphic because there is no way to detect
whether there is a Flash plugin installed in these browsers with
Javascript.----------- -----------------------
