In Flash 4:
*Click on the paint bucket tool.
*Select a color.
*At the top of the color menu is a little multi-colored block button
*Click that button
*A "Color" window will appear
*Click the Gradient Tab
*select a color for each end of the gradient by clicking on the
down-pointing arrow with the color you want to change
*Change that color's color by clicking on the color swatch below the rainbow
color picker
*Set the color's transparency with the "Alpha" slider or by entering a value
*Click the "New" button to create your new gradient - solid white to
transparent white (white with a 0% alpha value) would be my suggestion
*use your new gradient to fill whatever you want

Jolly Day!

Subject: FLASH: EMERGENCY transparency!

I want to create a ad banner... it will be a white banner on a white
background... instead of having the text scroll in from the side and you can
tell that it came in from a blocky border, I want to create a white to
transparency fade on either side so it looks like the text FADES in... if
you
have no idea what I'm talking about, please look at:

sega.com

and on their site you'll see the same thing happening instead in black.. the
text looks like it FADES into the flash header at the top.

does anyone know how to use a gradient that goes from white to transparent
in
flash layers???

PLEASE help... need to be done in an hour.

Thanks
