Bob,
I think its more a matter of does anyone "not"?
1) A mouse can not allow you to sign your own name (example) let alone
create or illustrate the images you see in your minds eye...
2) Without a tablet you are missing some of the features of your
illustration programs. Pressure sensitivity has been around for a long
time and makes up a standard feature set most of us expect when producing
graphics.
I have one for each machine in my office as well as for my lap top. I use
Wacom models and am considering one of the new "Intuous" (sp) models
which has a 4D mouse accompaniment which will soon be used to rotate 3D
models with one hand while you paint the object with your other (in real
time). Only program I know that supports this function to date is Play's
Animorphium but I am sure others will soon follow.
