Hi all,

I never did see Flash at http://www.i2f.org/ or any of the alternatives
suggested.

There are two basic ways to do the follow the mouse trick in Flash.
1) A matrix of invisble buttons with the over state as the image that
follows the mouse as you move from one place to another a different
button takes over and displays its over image as you move from button to
button. The more buttons in the matrix the better the effect.
See http://www.crownmall.com/flash/xmas/

2) Nested buttons in a Movie Clip. By putting buttons nested in a Movie
Clip. By placing 4 or more buttuns in a movie clip that direct the
cursor object towards the mouse.
The Movie clip with nested tracking buttons are generally slower to
respond but generally much smaller than a matrix of invisible buttons.

The above uses the mouse tracking technique.
Making good Follow the Mouse Movie Clips is fairly complicated and will
be shown in a series of Tutorials at the Bible next month.

If you go to the http://www.FlashBible.com/ go to Tutorial and in Step 1
(or Step 3) where it say 'Drag the New Movie Clip on to the Stage' if
you drag and stop before getting to Moses or go away from Moses and
release you will see an example of the Nested Movie Clip Follow the
Mouse technique.
