I'm with Dorian...

I've never used another person's artwork or images (other than a client or
potential client's for a presentation or a comp).

I've used Modified *dings from fonts to create a lot, but never resorted to
using someone else's work at all.

Just doesn't seem professional or respectful.

I haven't ever used anyone elses work or clip art. Starting out or not.
Btw, clip art is one thing ( a commodity for sale) and a gif from the
web is another. ( someone elses property.)
