I can understand that it would be desirable to stop all distribution of
obsolete software packages... I think everybody here is in agreement on
that.

If it's of consolation, though, please recall that at the end of last year
half of all consumers tested could already see Flash 4 content without
additional upgrades, and that the download rate has *increased* since that
time.

(Rephrased, I expect that the number of people downloading Flash each day
is a very high multiple of those downloading that back version of the
Netscape standalone browser.)

This doesn't take the sting out of people choosing old software, but I hope
it does show that the real effect is not damagingly significant...?
