Hi Eric -

>>I wanted to inform you of a bug I found in Flash 4.

I have an answer for you.

issue:
Aligning a movie clip with a blank first frame causes it to either a) disappear, or b) not allow it to be targeted with Tell Target actioins.

reason:
Bug. Whoops. Flash uses information in the first frame of a symbol as a bounding box when executing the align command. If this movie clip's first frame is blank, Flash fails here. Dunno where that
movie clip went, but it's not there.

solution:
Don't panic, people. It's an issue that is very unlikely most users will ever, ever see. But it exists.

One solution:
In the movie clip, add an item to another layer for the first frame only. Use it for alignment purposes. Then, before exporting, turn that layer (inside the movie clip) into a guide layer. It won't be
visible during the movie, but will have positive space, necessary to use the alignment features.

If this doesn't work.... don't use "align" on movie clips with no art in the first frame. :>)
