I don't know of any way to make IE/Mac use JavaScript like the other
browsers... can't ask it its plugins, can't pass messages between scripts
and plugins.

For "another way" then much might depend on the overall goal. I do know,
though, that if your audience includes people in IE/Mac, then they won't be
able to do as many things as visitors in other browsers can.
