Michael,

Without seeing your proposed new company site it's difficult to comment.
Though I have looked at the current one and it is very static.

Bosses can be very resistant to change. Marketing managers - in my
experience (apologies to any on the list) tend to be 'Yes' men, and *rse
lickers. They'll watch their own back whilst getting ready with the knife.
They are scared to make changes because if it all goes wrong it makes them
look bad, though they will attempt to pass the buck as far as it will go.
This is my experience of working with Marketing Managers. Others may be
different.

He/she is probably thinking 'If it aint broke. don't fix it'.

I agree with John Brzys, you should put a really cracking presentation
together. Take your boss through it gently. don't frighten him/her off with
the latest fully flashed up sites - if you do that, you've lost.

It may be that your company's site just needs a little flash pzazz, though
nothing 'in your face'. Some of the best sites I've seen in the past have
incorporated flash so well, that you really don't know it's there half the
time. But you would if you took it away.

Finally, remember one thing. When your boss eventually decides to go with it
it'll have been his idea. He'll get all the glory for your hard efforts! I
never new a marketing person that didn't take full responsibility for
everything that worked out well, then claimed they must have been 'on
holiday' when a bad decision was made!!

If it's a no go situation, then as someone else on the list said, try
looking for a new position to further your web/flash career. You're probably
worth it!

Regards,

Paul.
