FLASH: Reading In External Text / Eval Problem

Hello,


What I am doing is incrementing the value of a variable "num" and trying to

read in the correct variable info from an external text file like this:


This is what the text file would look like:


&variable1=value 1&variable2=value&variable3=value&


This is my code that I am having problems with:


num = num + 1 (lets say right now the value is 1)

Set Variable: "/:variable" = Eval("variable"&num)



I expected this to update a text area named "variable" on the main timeline

but as it sits the variable, "variable" is empty.


Any ideas?
