FLASH: Percentage loading?

After a couple of months hiatus, I am starting to delve into Flash 4 

specific features. I have seen some sites that have a preloader which 

shows percentages of site loaded. 


Is there a function or action script that calls that information simply, 

or is it just created by estimates and counting of frames loaded?
