FLASH: Importing .mov file question

Hello,


I am attempting to import various 500k - 1mg .mov files into flash 4, using

import, etc. & am having no luck.  This is a newbie situation.


Either the first image appears on the stage & hops into my library with the

film camera icon etc but no frames appear in the timeline (as would happen

with an anim gif, for example) ...


or I get the message:


"This file type is not recognized.  Would you like to try using another

application to insert the file as an embedded object? If no other

application understands this file type, this file will appear as an icon."


My goal is to get the frames into the timeline and maybe even trace as

bitmap ....  Any idea what's going on?  All help with this is sincerely

appreciated.
