Hi Liam,

That depends on whether or not you decide before hand in the contract
"written or verbal" between you and the client.

Say for instance you want to use this "job, site, example" on your site to
show what you can do in Flash. Then you say to the client, "would you mind
if I used this as an example on my site?" I always ask the client. It's your
work, but it's also their end product so it's a good idea and it's polite to
ask.

Do you give them the source file; the fla if they ask for it? Yes.

1. It's good business.

2. If there's a problem, they'll refer back to you.

3. Word of mouth is very good advertising; i.e.: If a friend of theirs sees
what you did, the original client make say "Hey I know this really good
Flash Designer . . . " and send them your way.

4. Good communication between clients and you is always good for business.

5. Always spell it out: You know what you represent, it's your work of
course, present yourself well, and back it up, always! (i.e.: you have a
deadline to hit, hit the deadline!)

6. Put it in writing, a verbal contract is binding but having it on paper
signed by all parties is much better, and easier to negotiate.

cYa,

Mary Brzys
