FLASH: Flash Slowing Down

In my main scene I have a movie that controls the loading and unloading

of 38 different .swf files in 38 levels by pushing a button.  It is like

a slide show.  The problem is that as I load more files it takes longer

to load and unload movies.  Is there a reason for this?  and is there a

way to get around this?
