OK, I went to a 45-minute presentation by a guy from Microsoft and the
gist of it is that Win2K is for users of Windows NT and that the
Second Edition of Win98 is for those who use Win98.

He did say that there are more than a few programs that work with
95/98, but will NOT work with W2K -- just as there are programs that
work with 95/98 and not with NT.

The guy also gave us a URL with which you can check software (and I
think some hardware) compatibility:

Win98 SE seems to be a minor upgrade, although the main new feature is
something that allows you to have more than one computer in your house
or office hook up to the same Internet connection -- it's called
Internet Connection Sharing. Here's where you can read more about it:

"Isn't It Time You Were Disappointed By A Different Clinton?"
"None of our laws provide for good job performance, contrition, forgiveness or popularity polls as a remedy for criminal conduct," -- Rep. Steve Buyer (R-IN), 2/8/99

"If you're going to be a rapist, be pro-choice." -- Bill Bennett, 2/28/99
