Subject: FLASH: Button instances
From: Cheri Harder

Spent about an hour tracking a silly problem & will relay it to the list in
case somebody else didn't know this....I added [F6] keyframes to create new
instances of my buttons so that I could change the tint back & forth to make
them "flash" different colors before coming to rest....Later in my
development I decided to change the action on one. Couldn't figure out for
the life of me why the action wouldn't change...looked right...double
checked, did "save as"...cut 'n paste the action in a new movie...all the
good stuff..

Then realized I was changing the action in the final instance of the
button..the last instance down the timeline, as it were. Seems logical, as
that is the instance that exists when I am pushing the button, no? No!!! I
had to change the action in the FIRST instance of the button on that layer.
Hmmmm. Somebody mentioned this the other day in conjunction with naming the
instances of a Movie Clip - has to be the name on the FIRST instance of the
Movie Clip too, I hear.

Strange, but hope this helps someone else keep their hair.
