Where are you getting your prices? Even if you don't have access to
corporate sales, this is straight from the Apple store:

Summary
450MHz PowerPC G4 - 1MB L2 cache
64MB SDRAM - 1 DIMM
10GB Ultra ATA drive
DVD-ROM drive with DVD-Video
RAGE 128 Pro card - 16MB SDRAM
Three FireWire ports
Mac OS 9
Subtotal $1,849.00

Never buy the preconfigured Macs. Use the BTO function and build what you
want from the base model. Don't forget to recalculate your costs when you
make a change. Never buy RAM or extra drives from Apple. Third party
parts are cheaper (always), faster (usually) and have longer warranties
(generally).
