My only question with this is what if Flash isn't installed in the first
place? I am under the impression that Colin's tutorial requires Flash to be
installed in order to use it to detect for Flash. Kind of makes sense to me
anyways...

Hi Jamie,

We don't even bother using JavaScript to detect Flash any more. Use Flash
to detect Flash. See Colin Moock's tutorials at:

http://www.moock.org/webdesign/flash/

I'm on a Mac, and haven't had any probs using this method with IE.
