This should tell you a bit about what they are:


Because it usually resides in place of the Outlook today page, it sits
within Outlook. The structure around the objects is usually HTML. The fact
that it is not within a browser gives many benefits including seamless
firing up of .exe's with no dialogue boxes or security warnings. But as it
isn't within the browser, some of the basic functionality, particularly
within Flash, can be rather quirky, to say the least.

So trying to get it to work for a current intranet project doesn't feel like
a 'Win' situiation at all. Safe to say, I am looking forward to getting home
tonight and getting back to the Mac.
