Subject: FLASH: duplicate movie only works on button action
From: Jonathan Kemp

Does anyone know why the duplicate movie action only works when you press a
button on one frame to advance to the next frame or when the actions are
attached to the button instance? I have a scene with five frames. The
duplicate movie action is in the second frame. These actions only work when
I press a button in the first frame to go to the second frame. In all
examples I have seen, this only works when you advance a frame by pressing a
button or the actions are in the button instance itself. Can anyone explain
this to me? Everything also has to be in the same scene for this to work.
