Subject: FLASH: What to put on the first page?
From: Michael Dunn

I'm working on the HTML page that will come up first when someone comes to my
site. I know it should have a "pretty" picture and maybe a flash animation to
test if they can see it and a link to download the plugin if needed. I had
thought of using a detect script but no one seems to have a definitive,
all-encompassing script that will work perfectly (if someone does have one that
will check if the flash 4 plug-in is installed and works on all browsers and all
platforms, no exceptions or errors, it would be nice to see it posted once and
for all). My question is this: What typically should be there? I'm not doing a
html alternate and once you click to enter, I will open a new window on top of
this. Any suggestions?

P.S. Or a "definitive" sniffer that will then (if all is good) it will cue the
javascript to open the new window.
