SQL is a whole other language, its not platform dependant at all. It stands
for Standard Query Language and is how you interact with databases. Most if
not all databases now support SQL in some form. You just have to know the
peculularities for that DBs particular flavor of SQL. Any middle ware that
can talk to databases allows you to send SQL calls to databases. THis
included ASP, PHP and ColdFusion to name a few.

Subject: FLASH: SQL/ASP?

I am reading questions that seem to equate SQL and ASP. Is SQL one form
of ASP?

I thought ASP was a WIN NT only dynamic database query and page
generating system.

I thought SQL was for Unix...

Can someone enlighten me?

Thanks

Jeff
