Don't know, it was just a lead. All I know is that someone I know has a Mac-run

business and their Mac dealer told them that G4s that they would buy in the

future would be somehow significantly different, microprocessor-wise I'm pretty

sure, from their current G4s.

What I *did* see, that may apply to your future purchase, is this: apparently,

problems with finalizing OS 9.0.1 ("Minuet") have caused Apple to delay

releasing some significant new hardware ... a new line of PowerBooks, and a 17"

iMac, e.g. Current estimate for release of Minuet is by March 10, according to

AppleInsider. Depending on what *hardware* Apple releases at the same time, you

*may* see significant drops in certain other Apple hardware prices. Sometimes it

happens, sometimes it doesn't.

No, "better" doesn't always mean "tighter" to me. "Better" in this case means

less crashes. It's memory *management*, not memory conservation. (BTW, I never

seemed to have those prior Mac / Flash 4 problems (crashes) ... G3/266, OS 8.6.)
