FLASH: How to update the player and change object properties real time?

We are creating an .swt for web clients, but once the client has it we want

to update the flash file dynamically in the browser based on same data.

We don't want to just refresh the browser (making another call to the

generator) because the flash in the browser would blink.  Further we want to

update the colors of objects in the flash player real time based on that

data.  So first off, can I update the player with variables from an outside

source and second , can I then change the colors of objects in the flash

player and if so how?
