Subject: FLASH: shockwave 7.02

Shockwave Developers (and Flash Developers, too!):

1. Shockwave 7.02 is now shipping. It has been available for public beta
test for several weeks and is now in its final form on www.macromedia.com.
Over the next week Macromedia will be communicating this release and the
associated
release of the shockwave.com site to wider audiences - we're starting with
our development community.

2. Shockwave 7.02 is different. Shockwave 7.02 contains a user interface
called the Shockwave Remote, which will appear when users encounter
Shockwave content on the web. The Remote can be controlled by the developer
and there is documentation online. Start with:
http://www.shockwave.com/aboutus/dev_beta_remotefaq.html

3. Shockwave 7.02 is part of an overall strategy, which includes the
site, www.shockwave.com. The site is a distribution
mechanism and showcase for content - it provides developers and
publishers with access to a large audience, who have the
Shockwave and Flash players, and are interested in online
entertainment.

We actively encourage developers to submit their content for
distribution on the site, and in the Shockwave Search directory. Submission
forms and Entertainment Developer Program details are available at
http://www.shockwave.com/devroom/. Learn more about our new consumer
business strategy as it pertains to Shockwave developers at
http://www-dev.shockwave.com/aboutus/dev_strategy.html

4. Shockmachine is shipping today. Shockmachine will sell for $19.95, but is
free to registered Shockwave and Flash developers. A download system for
registered developers will be up on the site shortly. For the moment if you
want a development Shockmachine, email Pete Caban (Developer
Relations) at Shockwave.com: peteatshockwave [dot] com.

5. For documentation on developing Shockwave or Flash
content for the Shockwave Remote and Shockmachine, see the Developer's
Guide, at:
http://www.shockwave.com/aboutus/dev_guide.html.

Thanks, as always, for your support!
