Hi Tony,

I found a cute fla at www.flashkit.com which'll probably heal your wounds...
search for 'vobatrace' and you'll get a fla wherein a logo-outline is traced
by a 1pixel-width shape filled with a gradient to zero-alpha.
putting your cardiac-curve into the path layer might do the job....
