FLASH: flash for banners or not?

hey everyone,


I just was wondering...

Are advertising web banners being made with flash primarily or not? I

was under the impression that they were, but my boss told me that they

should be animated gifs. Is this true?

It doesn't make sense to me, since flash is so small...the banner in

question is only 8k, so it's not like it would add too much space to the

page it's on.

Anybody...?
