Subject: FLASH: Passing newline to email client
From: Scott Burkette
Date: Wed, 22 Nov 2000 20:30:14 GMT

Sorry for the crosspost, I did not get help on flashcoders.

I am concatenating up a long mailto: link using variables from my
Flash movie in the subject and body. All is fine except I can't get
the email client to respect the &newline& action script parts of my
link. The entire message is just run together. This is the case in
Eudora and Outlook. I have tried to use \n instead of &newline&, this
does not help.

I am using something like:
"mailto:"&/:friendemail&"?Subject=Education URL from
"&/:name&"&body="&/:friendname&","&newline&"This is a great teaching
URL sent to you from
"&/:name&"."&newline&/:emailtext&newline&/:emaillink&newline&"This
educational link is from blah, blah, blah."

Flash sees this with the newline formatting intact, but can't seem to
communicate this to the email client.

Any help is appreciated.
