FLASH: Flash 5 actions not backward compatible???

Hi All,


I'm working on a Flash4 client project which I (reluctantly) began in Flash5 (designer files were all supplied as Flash 5 FLAs).  I've tried publishing it to Flash4 format, but it behaves very strangely when playing in a Flash4-equipped browser:  spawning multiple browser windows, not displaying certain symbols, and not responding well to Tell Target and Load Movie actions.  Although I'm fairly new to Flash5 (aren't we all ;), I'm very familiar with Flash4 actionscript, and have avoided any Flash5-specific commands or syntax.


This movie is rather complex and involves a lot of actionscript, including database connectivity (through Cold Fusion) and dynamic loading of other SWF files into the main movie.  I've gone through the manual, the online help, and Macromedia's support database, but haven't found any information about such incompatibilities, so I'm wondering if anyone on the list has experienced similar problems.

  

At this point, if I can't find a straight-forward way to make it work in Flash4, I'm looking at re-doing the entire thing in my Flash4 environment (grrrr), so any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
