Never mind!
I figured it our (or hacked it - whatever)
I moved the MC from the center point within itself to correspond to the zero
x and y points of the main movie, thereby positioning where it should be...

Thanks!

Subject: FLASH: Dragging Movie Clip - FLASH 4
Hey list!
Me again....
Question...
I'm trying to make a draggable "menu strip" type thing....
I have a movie clip I would like to drag but constrain to a path.... but
when I put the following in the movie clip (to target itself in the main
timeline):
On (Press)
Start Drag ("/menu", L=0, T=0, R=450, B=0)
End On
On (Release)
Stop Drag
End On
The thing jumps to the zero x and y position of the main movie....
Here's a URL so you can see for yourself... Please realize that this is in
the VERY beginning of development!!!

If someone could tell me what's wrong, or point me to a good tutorial, I'd
be eternally grateful!!
