I assume you mean Level. Levels are where Movies Loaded by Load Movie
reside. Layers are only inside Flash movies.

This same example comes with Flash 3 but this is slightly revised to
bring it up to the standard usage of _level (instead of _flash).
Also you can use FSCommand to communicate with JavaScript and then use
Flash Methods to send commands to any open Flash .swf Movie on any
Level.
