Len,
Based on your expanded explanation I would recomend the following
solution :
Suppose WBS appears at _level1 frame 25. When the user clicks on it he's
transported to the glossary. so you'll have a goto action here. Now
place an FSCommand that sends the departure point to a variable defined
in JavaScript, let's call it 'origin'.
Now the user is reading the def. of WBS in the glossary and he has a
back button. The only action here is an FSCommand that triggers a
Javascript function that does a goto frame or a tgoto.
