Subject: UKNM: Frames and Search Engines
From: Charles Meaden
Date: Wed, 28 Apr 1999 17:48:18 +0100

As a whole we don't use frames on the sites that we build for the single
reason that it is very difficult to get a search engine to go through the
whole site properly.

If a client insists or the site requires frames, we build a framed site
that creates a seperate frame for each page on the site as it allows us to
optimise each page and then submit it. It also allows visitors to bookmark
an indivdual page rather than the whole site.

This process is more time consuming than creating a 'normal' framed site,
but worth it and is considerably more effective than relying on a few meta
tags on the home page.

Regards

Charles Meaden
