Firstly, let me assure Leslie and others that the domain names which he
makes reference to will not be available as email addresses as part of the
Funmail service.

The original thought behind the registration of these domain names was
because, to some, they are statements of pride. For example: the term 'Yid'
is commonly used by many supporters, often Jewish ones, of Tottenham Hotspur
Football Club to describe themselves in the context of their support for
that team.

As a matter of interest, yid.com is used as a Jewish personal dating service
site. nigger.com is owned by the National Association for the Advancement of
Coloured People.

Like Leslie, I too am Jewish. I have also been active in many anti-racism
organisations. I personally feel strongly about these issues too.

Having registered the domain names we considered in more detail how they
would be used by the general public using the service. Indeed, we went
through this process for the many thousands of other names we have
registered. We came to the conclusion that they indeed might be abused by
some people and had no plans to use them in the service when it was
launched. They should not have still pointed to the Funmail site - we
overlooked that when we removed them from our database a while ago - and
this has now been rectified.

I hope this clears things up.
