As an open directory editor I agree it needs more control. The quality of
the sections ranges from great to useless. As with many open source projects
there is a need for what could be described as a benevolent dictator to
drive things on and shape things. I've also had people reorganise my section
just to make their site a cool site.

I personally don't like the fact the open directory is known as DMOZ
(Directory-Mozilla) and the official url is DMOZ.org.

None the less the open directory has spread like wild fire and I urge those
of you out there who have a field of specialism to join as a dmoz editor -
you can always use dmoz to organise any link pages you have.

My sections are...

Interactive TV
http://www.dmoz.org/Arts/Television/Interactive/

Artificial Life
http://www.dmoz.org/Computers/Artificial_Life/

And recently HCI
http://www.dmoz.org/Science/Social_Sciences/Psychology/Human_Factors_and_Erg
onomics/Human_Computer_Interaction/ (gotta move that one)

Cheers
