Flash it's self is wonderful and has a broad coverage these days. You can
essentially do everything in Flash folks used to do in Shockwave (something
I would now consider obsolete).

The problem comes when you get animation happy and allow the presentation
get in the way of site purpose.

The example I use often is www.hoover.co.uk which looks good but just
doesn't lead people to buy a vacuum cleaner. It's brochurware at it's
purest.

Take a look at www.sony-europe.com for more of the same (good to see it's up
to date!)

I feel Flash makes the clever stuff you can do in DHTML redundant and it
does amaze me some folks use both together, especially when DHTML is used
for animation along side Flash.

Basically I feel Flash is cool, wonderful and great but it should be used
only when it's the best solution - not because the designer like it at the
moment and has found out a cool way to do 'ripples'.

Cheers
