Most of these points are very good but the sort of HTML email supported
directly by Messenger and Outlook Express isn't quite a MIME
attachment.

THere are differences between Messenger and Outlook Express treatment
of HTML attachments as well.

Most of the big players (e.g., CNET) seem to have given up or downplayed
HTML email.

Even if you can get it to work, forget anything bar Netscape and Microsoft
mailers, you risk annoying people.
