Paul,
I feel I should inform you that in my (and a number of my friends and
family) opinion the ntlworld service has been a pile of steaming pants from
start to finish. After waiting months for my disc it finally arrived and was
the single most annoying son of a b**** to install. I am still trying to
claim back my £25 of help desk calls in order to sort out the mess the disc
had caused. Two months later my parents called to say they had received
their disc and could I go and install it. I have to say that the newer
version of disc was a good deal easier to install but their connection is
cut off so frequently that they don't have time to reply to e-mails and
don't seem to be able to sort this out. So don't wish those days away before
you get full ntl service, enjoy the days beforehand!

the most maddening thing is that as an existing c&w customer, i can't get
ntlworld until *next* year! new customers have to wait up to three months
before receiving the cd as well. they are bringing out b/band cable modem
service soon (perhaps b4 end of year) and i sigh when i think how long it
will take to roll that out to where i live. there's a review of all these
free isps on http://www.uk.internet.com/

nil points). paul.
